Simple DIY Hanging Kids Book Display
If you have a lot of children’s books and don’t have a place where to store them, then this new DIY project is for you. A hanging book display will help your child to find a necessary book if he or she can’t read the book titles. You will need a 47-inch by 42-inch piece of fabric; two double curtain rod brackets; two, 4-foot long wooden curtain rods that fit into the brackets; drill and drill bits and sewing machine, thread and scissors. First, fold the fabric lengthwise to make 47 inches by 21 inches. Sew the fabric together around one of the short sides, the long side and about half-way down the other short side. Turn the fabric right side out through the opening and sew it up by folding the raw edges toward each other and then inside. Working with one side at a time, fold the long end over so it overlaps by 2 inches. Pin up, then stitch all the way down the length of the fabric. Repeat on the other side. Screw the brackets onto the wall. Hang the fabric on the curtain rods, then insert them into the brackets. Load your hanger with books. If you have enough wall space, make several hanging book displays and install them above one another.
