Sweet DIY Paper Easter Egg Art To Make With Your Kid

Fri, Mar 28, 2014 | DIY Projects

It’s less than a month before Easter, so I guess soon it’ll be the time to get crafty and make some cool Easter projects together with your kid. I’ve got a really cute and simple DIY to share today – Easter Egg artwork, which you can frame and hang up somewhere. The supplies are 8.5×11 egg template, 2 8.5×11 sheets of white cardstock, an assortment of colored and patterned paper, glue and X-acto knife. First print out 2 egg templates and cut several strips of colorful and patterned paper ½” wide. Let your kid place these strips randomly over one template and cover the whole egg with them, gluing down as you go. Cut out the egg out of the second template and place it over the sheet with strips. Secure with glue. Voila!

Eclectic And Glam Big Girl Room Design

Fri, Mar 28, 2014 | Kids room

Katy Mimari, mom of the beautiful girl Ashlyn, also happens to be an awesome designer behind Caden Lane. We’re happy to share with you today the room, that she has recently designed for her little princess. It’s a little bit confusing how many different prints and patterns are used here, but it’s actually fantastic! Katy says that she talked with her daughter before deciding about the room’s design and gladly they’ve come to a common decision. The result turned out really as eclectic as actually teen’s interests are, chic, maybe even royal in some things, modern and girlish. I probably love the most this chair by the window, where you can settle down with a good book. Perfection!

This craft is so funny and original! Let’s make these holders for important notes for kids. Cute DIY Wooden Doll Family For Playing With Kids

Thu, Mar 27, 2014 | DIY Projects, Toys

It’s so funny to make a wooden doll family, especially if this family is yours. You can make clothes and accessories that you have in real life. You will need blank wood figures, luscious wool felt, acrylic paint and sharpie paint pens, black extra fine sharpie, trusty Aileen’s craft glue, flax seed oil for a quick finish on the wood, copper wire and different weights. You can make the felt hair in 2 layered sections, first of all cut templates out of soft paper towel, then lay it on the felt to cut out the shapes and make some light trimming. For the white faces use a piece of tape. Read the rest of the tutorial here.

Awesome Boy’s Nursery With A Neutral Base And Vivid Accents

Thu, Mar 27, 2014 | Kids room

Gender neutral kid’s rooms are truly gaining momentum now, and I really get a charge out of spaces with neutral base and pops of color. This nursery for baby Henry is just so perfectly boy, chic, modern and playful at the same time. The parents kept the room look really clean, comfy and light but added so many interesting and vivid details for an original and fun twist. Most of all I love the murals with a little raindrops garland above the crib, awesome animals colored in gold and aqua colors, bright yellow accents everywhere from the chair to the changing table. Well done!

Colorful DIY Painted Wooden Confetti Spoons

Wed, Mar 26, 2014 | DIY Projects

These adorable confetti spoons will be perfect for your kids or a kids’ party! They are funny and easy-to-make! If you have free 5 minutes, make this craft with your kids. You will need sequin confetti, painter’s tape, non-toxic glue, food safe paint and paint brushes. First of all mask off your spoons so they are ready to paint. You and your kids won’t be eating from the paint part so you could just use acrylics as long as they are non-toxic. Paint any color you like. You can leave the spoons painted once you remove the tape. Or you can finish and glue a couple of dabs on the spoons and stick the confetti on.

Feminine And Cheerful Teenage Room Design For A Girl

Sat, Mar 22, 2014 | Kids room

I think this room is a perfect example of a classic girl teenage room. It’s fun yet feminine, it has colorful and romantic touches, elegant and glam elements. I love this calm and soft blue and pink shades that mom of a big girl Brynn chose, and the way she played off the bright elements like frames on the wall, hearts bedding to make the whole look whimsy and cheerful. If I were at Brynn’s age, I’d love to spend here my spare time, play with friends and arrange fun sleepovers. Take a closer look to get inspired and catch some ideas!
