Chic Navy, Pink And White Baby Girl Nursery

Wed, May 21, 2014 | Kids room

Mom of adorable baby girl Olivia designed this fun space for her with such an eye-catchy and original color palette of navy and hot pink. Together with white accents the room doesn’t look moody or egdy at all, more like a chic, glamorous and really-really girly one. Everything is thought over to the last and smallest detail and everything suits the main idea and theme. I love that here’re lots of graphic patterns and interesting shapes. One more thing that also surprised me is kid’s stuff put in jars. Looks kind of unexpected, but why not? Take a peek to the gallery to see all of the photos and tell me what you think of the room.

Colorful DIY Lolita’s Eyeglass String Necklace

Tue, May 20, 2014 | DIY Projects

This project is funny and simple! You will spend a great time with your kids making this necklace. You will need string, beads, pom poms, needle and scissors. Cut string to a comfortable length plus 2 ¾ “ (7cm). Make a Hangman’s Noose knot and one end of the string. Tense knot by pulling on the bottom loop. Trim excess string, then tie a simple knot on the string and start threading colorful beads. Use a needle for piercing and threading pom poms. Once you have the desired length of beaded string, tie a knot to fix beads in place. Fold string in half and find the middle. Measure the distance to start another beaded piece on the other half of the string, knotting to secure and finish it off just the way you started — with a new hangman’s noose knot. Place a noose on each eyeglass earpiece and slide knots to adjust the loop, snug fit to prevent slipping.

Neutral Yet Bright And Colorful Toddler Bedroom Design

Fri, May 16, 2014 | Kids room

Today we’re sharing photos of the room for a baby boy Ari, which perfectly balances a neutral background and bright accents. The mom and also the designer of this room wanted a wall color to be a bit more grown up and mature, that would make artwork pop. The idea isn’t new, but I love the way she realized it here, in her son’s room, which turned out to be a very whimsy, fun and bright space to play and dream. The design is very clean, modern but such warm-feeling and calm. What I probably love the most here is those polka dot storage boxes, aren’t they just adorable? Take a look and tell me what do you like here.

Magic DIY Wand For Little Wizards

Fri, May 16, 2014 | DIY Projects

All kids love magic, so you can make adorable wands and your kids will feel as real wizards! You will need wood star, wood dowel, wood glue, glitter paint, coarse grit sand paper and ribbon. Take your dowel and sand down a 1 to 1.5 inch flat spot on one end. This will make a larger surface to glue on the star. Test how the star will fit and when done, dust gently with a soft cloth. Add wood glue with a brush and press on to back of star. Hold with your fingers until set. Let dry on table until completely cured — see directions on glue for exact times. Once dry, get ready to paint. Take a paint brush and coat the entire wand with a light coat of glitter paint. Let dry. Read the rest of the tutorial here.

Adorable DIY Mini Piñatas For A Kid’s Party

Thu, May 15, 2014 | DIY Projects, Party theme

Piñatas is such a great idea for a kid’s party, because it’s the easiest way to give every guest that happy moment with their own little-bitty miniature gifts. To make the piñatas you only need just a few supplies: paper cones, small candy, hot glue gun and glue, scissors, ribbon and crepe paper or streamers. Begin with snipping the very tip off of your cones and some ribbons. Then tie a knot at one end of every  cut ribbon and fold the un-knotted side of the ribbon to fit through the open end of the cone. Next cut the crepe paper streamers to the diameter of a cone. Read the rest of the tutorial on jodimichelle.com.

Eclectic And Fun Girl’s Nursery Design With A Chalkboard Wall

Wed, May 14, 2014 | Kids room

I really love the room’s photos of which we share today. The idea was to make a kid’s space as eclectic and fun as possible, making sure to shop at a variety of different places, so nothing would look the same. It’s not that easy as it may seem, because you really need an effort to mix colors, patterns and textures boldly yet beautifully. In this case the mom of a sweet girl Zoë did it with flying colors. I like the chalkboard wall which allows the girl to express herself, the fun chevron rug and just abundance of lovely art all around the room. Take a closer look and get inspired!
