Adorable DIY Electrified Fox Lamp For A Kid’s Room

Thu, Jun 19, 2014 | DIY Projects

Have you ever thought of turning stuffed animals into lamps? Me neither! However, it’s a great and really pretty décor idea for your tot’s room. First you need to sew a stuffed animal of your choice. To do that you basically need to make some patterns for the tail, head and other parts of your toy, sew them together and stuff the toy, leaving the bottom open. Then there goes the fun part: you need to cover the whole toy with Stiffy, which turns the fabric into a hard shell. Once Stiffy is completely dry, pull out all the stuffing, using a pencil wrapped in duct tape. Finally, trim the bottom edge off, cut a snip out for the light cord and stuff the LED lights string inside. Voila!

Colorful DIY Storage Drum Box

Wed, Jun 18, 2014 | DIY Projects

This box is a thing to hide a few toys while adding some fun. Your kids will like it! You will need a round paper mache box, three bottles of paint (white, gold and your choice of color), pencil, measuring tape, paint brush and clear coat. Get box that is wider than it is tall so it resembles a drum. Paint the entire outside of the bottom part of the box white. Discard the lid. Use two even coats, letting dry after each. Take your measuring tape and measure around the outside of the box. Divide by 8. Use that number to mark out the top of the box. Mark the center between each tic mark with a small dot, and make a tic mark at the bottom of the box from that dot. The rest of the tutorial is here.

Entertaining DIY Crystal Gem Watercolor Paintings For Kids

Tue, Jun 17, 2014 | DIY Projects

Every little girl likes sparkly things, so today we will paint them! You really should try to make it, because it develops imagination and motor skills of your kids. You will need watercolor paper, watercolor paints and brushes, fine tipped black sharpie markers, ruler, masking tape, colored pencils, crayons and glittery gold craft paints. Using a sharpie marker, begin placing dots on the page. The key to a good crystalline shape is making only one dot at the bottom and scattering lots of dots above it – the greater the distance from the bottom dot, the more obvious the pointed base of your jewel will be. Connect the dots with your ruler and sharpie. The rest of the tutorial is here.
