Cute DIY Alphabet Gems To Make For Kids

Tue, Sep 9, 2014 | DIY Projects

We are sure that you always teach your kids something. So today it’ll be easy with these alphabet gems. You will need 26 large clear glass stones, rounded on one side and flat on the other, mod podge, foam brush, scrapbook paper, black marker and playing board. First of all cut the scrapbook paper to fit the back of each gem. Draw uppercase letters on each piece of paper. Using your foam brush, apply mod podge to the letter-side of the paper and then attach the paper to the flat side of the gem. Add another layer of mod podge over the back of the paper to make sure it is sealed. For the game board, use a marker to write out the lowercase letters. You can make alphabet gems into magnets (it’ll be perfect for hanging artwork), you can teach your kids simple spelling and put gems in a bag or box and give them as a gift.

This project will be perfect for kids. If they’ll play with this rice, it can develop their motor skills and imagination. You will need rice (1 cup), kool-aid packet (1/2 teaspoon), rubbing alcohol (1 teaspoon), plastic gallon bag (freezer bag), foil and baking sheet. Gather your tools and start by standing up and opening your large freezer bag. Use one bag for each color you wish to make. First, add 1 cup of rice to each bag. Then, scoop out a 1/2 teaspoon of powder out of each Kool-Aid packet. Pour the powder on top of the rice. Now add 1 teaspoon of rubbing alcohol to each bag on top of the previous two ingredients. The rest of the tutorial is here.

Fabulous Superhero Themed Birthday Party For Boys

Mon, Sep 8, 2014 | Party theme

Looking at such fab birthday pictures like these ones makes me want to be a kid again. Mom of little Bubba together with her creative friends threw him the best 6th birthday party ever. She played around the superhero theme and did just an awesome job. Just look at this table runner made of vintage comic books! Looks so cool! And aren’t those paper goods from Peanut Press Creative just dreamy? I really love every little detail of this party, and it got me inspired to arrange something like that myself with my friends. Check out all of the photos and I bet you’ll get your creative juices flowing, too.

Excellent DIY Polka Dot Backpack

Sat, Sep 6, 2014 | DIY Projects

You can make this polka dot backpack for your kids very quickly because it’s so easy-to-make and fun! Also your kids can help you to create this print. You will need a backpack, fabric paint in the colors of your choice, a pencil with an un-used eraser and a polka dot stencil. If you choose to use a polka dot stencil to plan out your spacing, tape the stencil to the backpack, and mark some little dots where the fabric paint will go. You will use this as a guide. Dip the eraser end of the pencil into a little bit of fabric paint and place a dot on the backpack on one of your pencil marks. Press down directly and twist slightly and pull up. Keep placing dots one by one. Continue on, until you fill up the space. Allow to dry.

Very Lovely And Charming Pastel Girl’s Bedroom Design

Fri, Sep 5, 2014 | Kids room

I love discovering new interior designers, and today let me introduce you fabulous designer Kate Sparks. She really does the magic, doesn’t she? Recently Kate did a tour of a bedroom for baby girl Georgia and it’s just sheer cuteness! I’m in love with those pastel shades she used, because they create such a warm and sweet feeling, you want to be around here all the time. As for the stuff and furniture the room is filled with, I can’t even stop at one thing I like the most. I’m just thrilled how everything looks so good and harmoniously together. Kate did a great job, and personally I’d love my kid to live in a room like that. How about you?

Colorful DIY Ribbon Wands For Girls

Thu, Sep 4, 2014 | DIY Projects

This craft is so adorable and girly! Your daughter will be happy to play, dance to the music with these ribbon wands! You will need ribbon, wooden dowels, drill, scissors and sandpaper. Gather the materials. For a power tool-less alternative to this project, you can use scissors to cut two small holes at the end of a paper towel tube to create fat wands. Or you can create skinnier wands using dowels and a drill. First drill a hole towards the end of the wand. Cut up various pieces of ribbon. Now that you have prepped the area, have your kids join in on the making wands. They can pick the colors for their ribbon wand. Thread the ribbon through the holes. Then tie the ribbons in a knot. That’s all!
