Cute DIY Owl Garland For Kids’ Parties

Wed, Nov 5, 2014 | DIY Projects

These owls are so cute and funny so you should make owl garland for your kids’ party necessarily. You will need paper or paper grocery sacks, scissors, various paints and glue. First, cut the bottom off few paper grocery sacks. Then cut two strips for each garland to your desired width; two strips to give the garland a bit more weight and sturdiness. After gluing the strips together, fold them accordian style to your desired width and cut them out. Then make patterns for the eyes, beak, belly and wings. With those patterns, cut owl body parts from decorative paper and attach them. Add some pupils. That’s all!

Creative DIY Fall Leaf Painting

Wed, Nov 5, 2014 | DIY Projects

Do your kids love to paint? Of course, yes. So teach them an unusual way to paint! For this project you will need just paints (red, yellow and orange), plastic water bottle (empty) and paper. To start put out a mess mat to protect workspace. Remember that it’s a very fun but messy activity. Your kids can draw a tree on a blank piece of paper. Gather your supplies and your kids can dip the edge of the water bottle or the bottle’s cap into the paint. Then they should stamp the cap onto the paper to make leaves. Then they can use their hands to blend it in. Your kids will be happy to make this artwork!

Interesting DIY Weaving To Make With Kids

Tue, Nov 4, 2014 | DIY Projects

Turns out that weaving is a kind of an obsessive thing, because it’s really interesting in process and as a result you get very beautiful pieces. Your kids can learn weaving too, and I think they will feel just like magicians, if they succeed. The technique is rather simple but enthralling and you can allow yourself to be free and creative with it. So, to get it started you’ll need a piece of cardboard about 6” x 8” and two strips for the top and bottom, exacto knife or scissors, ruler, yarn, plastic needle, masking tape and scotch tape, pompom maker, pony beads and twigs. Read the whole tutorial at artbarblog.com and have fun!

Original DIY Autumn Leaf Necklace For Girls

Sat, Nov 1, 2014 | DIY Projects

If your daughter often asks you to make something interesting and cute for her, you can create small accessories every day. So today it’s time for this fall necklace. You will need artificial leaves (multi-colored), string, pony beads, bowl and hole puncher. Start by picking out your fake leaves one by one. If you’ll have many shapes and sizes of them, it’ll be perfect. Use the hole puncher to punch a hole into the base of each leaf. After every leaf has a hole at its base, tie a knot onto one end of your plastic lacing or string to stop the beads and leaves from coming off once your child starts threading. Your kids can make their necklace by threading the leaves and pony beads onto the plastic lacing or string. The rest of the tutorial is here.

Neutral Little Pony Inspired Nursery With Girly Touches

Fri, Oct 31, 2014 | Kids room

Today’s nursery was inspired by horses, and it’s just lovely! For mom Lauren the gender of her upcoming baby was a total surprise, so she decided to make a neutral start – all white walls and brown and beige wooden details here and there. Once  little lady named Ann Bennett made her arrival, she added some girly and sweet touches to it like the softest pink pouf, triangles mobile and a pillow with the same print. What made the room even more special and unique is this horse painting above the crib. It was such a gift and treasure from Lauren’s sister-in-law Lea. All in all, the room turned out very stylish, not too babyish yet charming. Take a look at the photos and get inspired!

Elegant DIY Leaf Handprint Wreath To Make With Kids

Thu, Oct 30, 2014 | DIY Projects

Now it’s that time when you and your kids can make something creative in autumn evenings. For example, this leaf wreath. You will need finger paint, poster board paper, embroidery hoop (7-inch round), scissors, hot glue, wired ribbon (1 1/2 inch wide) and paper plate. Start by squirting finger paints onto a paper plate. Then your kids can swirl their hands in the mixture to blend the colors together. Now they can stamp their hands all over the two poster boards. Let the boards dry completely, and then cut out each print, making sure to also cut out a little tab at the base of each print. Next gather the hand print cut outs and insert them one by one into the embroidery hoop between the two rings. The rest of the instruction is here.
