Charming DIY Clay Ornaments For Christmas Decor

Wed, Dec 3, 2014 | DIY Projects

It’s less than a month left before our favorite holiday of the year – Christmas. Let’s plunge into the Christmas mood slowly and start making some ornaments and other decorations now, instead of rushing right before the holidays. All of the crafts that we share are doable with kids, and today’s charmingly beautiful clay ornaments are no exception. First gather the supplies, which are sculpey oven bake clay, rolling pin, bakers twine, paint of your color choice, cookies cutters, paint pen and paint brushes. Then roll out your clay into a thin, even sheet about 5/8” thick. Call the kids and using your cookie cutters, cut out shapes in different sizes. Read the rest of the tutorial, including the best part with painting, at abeautifulmess.com. Enjoy the time together and have fun!

Fun And Bright Mermaid Themed Kid’s Birthday Party

Wed, Dec 3, 2014 | Party theme

The mermaid theme is such a wonderful theme for a kid’s party! On one hand, it’s rather easy to plan with all those favorite and known details of the beach décor and the ocean hued palette, but on the other hand, it also gives you enough possibilities to be creative. The 1st birthday party for Emilee turned out so happy and feminine! Her mom Ashlee Thomas decided not to go Ariel overload with the party, and bring out the essence of the character instead. All in all, she tried to bring some “shabby ocean chic” vibe to life, and I think she did great. My favorite part here is definitely the photo collage – it’s just awesome! Take a look at the photos below and get inspired!

Fairy DIY Layered Paper Fan For Your Girl

Tue, Dec 2, 2014 | DIY Projects

Does your daughter love fairytales and princesses? If she does, you can make a beautiful accessory for your little princess! You will need paper, glue, ribbon, scissors, markers, crayons, or colored pencils. First, choose two patterns of paper. The third will be drawn by your girl! After she will finish designing and coloring the third, decide which will be the main piece and trim the others. Apply glue to the backs of the trimmed pieces, and paste them to the large sheet. Then make the first fold, at about 3/4 an inch. Now make several folds. Then put glue on both sides of the bottom and wrap a cute matching ribbon snugly around the bottom. Voila!

Mini DIY Yarn Christmas Tree To Make With Kids

Sat, Nov 29, 2014 | DIY Projects

Your kids will be happy to have several Christmas trees! Especially if they can make them by themselves. You will need yarn (red, green and other festive colors), glue (watered down), large bowl and styrofoam cone (leave it in the plastic packaging). Cut a really long piece of yarn 20-30 feet in length. Pour glue into a large bowl. You can also just water down normal white glue. Soak the yarn in the glue. Starting with the tip of the yarn, wrap the string around the cone lots of times. And make sure the yarn overlaps in places to it create a stronger bond. Then let it dry. Now cut the plastic on the bottom of the cone and pull the cone out of the plastic. Then pull the plastic off the inside on the yarn tree. Your new Christmas decoration is ready!

Awesome Woodland Themed Kid’s Birthday Party Inspiration

Fri, Nov 28, 2014 | Party theme

After looking at these photos from 3rd birthday party for Storey it feels like Ashley Nicole Events created a miracle. Really, it hands down the most incredible child’s birthday party I’ve ever seen. A wonderland party with pancakes and pajamas turned out so dreamy and fabulous, I’m pretty much obsessed with every amazing detail from tree stump seating and fluffy white photo booth to freaky plates with drawings of animals. There’re so many inspiring ideas for not only kid’s birthday event, but even for us, grown-ups. Wouldn’t you love to attend such a stylish winter wonderland soiree? I definitely would. Enjoy the photos!

If you are planning a Christmas family dinner, this idea will be very useful and funny. Your kids will like it! For this project you will need plastic baubles, gold paint, ribbons, chocolate, toys and washi tape. You can buy these plastic baubles in craft or discount stores. If you want, you can spray a gold paint on them. So then let them dry and decorate by ribbons and tags with your family’s names. Now inside you can pop in a little chocolate, teeny toy and a joke rolled up and secured with a little bit of washi tape. Plan every little detail of your Christmas!

Smart Eclectic And Whimsical Baby’s Nursery Design

Thu, Nov 27, 2014 | Kids room

Today’s nursery is a great example of right eclecticism, where in one room design bold meets subtle, old meets new and neutral meets peachy pinks. I absolutely love this approach to a baby’s nursery and think that it’s one of the best ways to make the room look interesting, inviting, whimsical and inspiring creativity for all children living here and anyone visiting little ones. What is more, for this nursery parents chose such design solutions that will grow past the baby years and be functional. For example, they used a simple table as a changing table instead of buying a dresser, made a chalkboard wall that will entertain kids years ahead. Get inspired!

Wonderful DIY Paper Plate Koala And Wombat

Thu, Nov 27, 2014 | DIY Projects

It’s very nice when your kids can create something and fin out interesting facts. So today you and your children can make these koala and wombat paper plates and get acquainted with Australian animals. For this craft you will need just paper plates, paint (brown and grey), googly eyes, brown felt or paper for wombat’s nose and ears, black felt or paper for koala’s nose, grey felt or paper for koala’s ears and glue. First of all take your paper plates and paint them with brown and grey paints. You can use sponges just because it’s very fun. When your plates will dry, carefully attach eyes, nose and ears to your wombat’s and koala’s faces with glue. Then let them dry. Voila!
